Check this before anyone starts
Each of these jobs has a rule set by a regulator. Ask any installer about it, us included.
Doorbell installation
If the doorbell connects to your fixed 240 volt wiring, the electrical part must be done by a licensed electrician, who gives you a Certificate of Electrical Safety.

Since 19 June 2025, installing security equipment such as CCTV for someone else in Victoria is a licensed activity. Ask to see the installer's private security licence. You do not need one to install a system at your own property.

In properties with an nbn Fixed Line connection, nbn says a registered cabler can often move the connection box or related cabling without an application to nbn.

Data cabling such as Cat6 must be installed by a registered cabler with structured cabling on their registration, or under their supervision.
